Old cabinet games

Years ago (around 2005) I was offered the opportunity to buy some old arcade machines, but due to my circumstances at the time did not take up the offer. It was a wide range of classics from the 80s and 90s. The arcade was closing its doors and selling off over 200 machines.

I kick myself now knowing that I could have gotten them for a steal, but I also know that they would have taken a lot of work to restore and maintain. Has anyone else invested or considered investing in old cabinet games?

I have also seen some restored ones with new internals. Some that can play a variety of games, but look like a classic arcade machine. This would probably be the direction I would go at this point.

I would if I didn't move so much in the past few years. I think I moved 8 times in the last 10 years. And kinda gave up collecting physical game around the 4th move. Went all digital from there.
