I was going to hold off on getting one, as I already had a One X, but my buddy managed to snag a SX and didn't want it so I snatched it up. In all honesty, if you have a One X (but more importantly, are using an external SSD), there isn't a huge reason to upgrade just yet. Sure the system is faster and it runs games smoother (sometimes not as smooth as you'd think) but for whats currently out there, you'd be hard pressed to notice big changes.

Until ACTUAL next gen games drop, I would only recommend the SX (definitely not the S) to those running with OG systems. The jump for those folks will be HUGE but marginal for OneX users. Heck, even the internal SSD isnt all that impressive so far. And quick resume is cool, when it works, but not a lot of games utilize it yet.

However, the one AWESOME thing about SX, is auto-hdr. A lot of older games can use this and it makes things look more "next gen" from a brightness and color pop standpoint (it doesn't always work as intended though). Geometry Wars 2 is a great example of this. The colors REALLY pop against the black background. And on an OLED, the result is pretty fantastic. The backwards compatible stuff is often times more impressive than the next gen features.

So, in closing, if you have an original Xbox One or One S, I would upgrade, no questions asked. If you have a One X and are rocking an external SSD, wait for some more games to drop.

Seriously considering picking one up. I had an old 360, but held off on the One due to backwards compatibility issues. Now that the series supports all old Xbox games, I am really thinking it may be worth revisiting the Xbox lineup.

Does anyone know if the Series is region locked like the 360 and One?

AFAIK, the SX does not support ALL old games. Its still adheres to the list MS has on their BC site. Which sucks, because I'd love to go back and play Rallisport Challenge 2 or ANY of the Project Gotham games.

Try offerup. Ive seen a few on there. Or find sites selling bundles and sell off what you don't want. My buddy was selling a SX at retail a few weeks back.
